Evaluation

In the brief I was asked to produce a promotional package for a media production company. From this I created the event Sheffield Rock 'n' Roll Weekender (a 1950's inspired event Based in Sheffield).  For this event I created a logo, badge designs based on the logo, a tote bag design using the logo and a promotional poster.

This fits the brief because I created a promotional package and also created merchandising for the event. This is important because after the event is over people will walk around with the merchandise and ask where the piece is from, thus making them more likely to attend the event next time, thus free publicity.

My promotional package fits well with the Target audience because the house style (that is consistent throughout the pieces) and artwork is reminiscent of the 1950's (an era that my Target Audience is interested in) and is family friendly so everyone can come and join in the fun at my event as some members of my Target audience may have a family or have strong family values meaning no one is excluded from my event.

I chose the cartoon style of artwork because it is prominent in both the vintage and rockabilly scene. Also this art style was adapted from those actually used in the 1950's. this art style makes my event stand out because although there are many 1950's events happening around England (but not as many as 1940's events), not many of them use the more cartoon/ pop art style that I have chosen to use.

If I were to do this again, I would experiment more with the colours in my promotional poster as it is the least professional of the piece, even though I enjoy the appearance, the would colours may need to be slightly If I were to do this again.
